Ethakka Appam "Riped Kerala Banana Fritters"

This is my hubbys fav snack. In kerala this snack is eaten almost everyday. This recipe is slightly different from the regular one that is made in kerala. I like the Banana sliced really thin and add cumin for flavor. Fortunately we get these Bananas in Singapore as its grown in Malaysia. Malaysian also make lot of snacks with these.

Ingredients
1 Ripe plaintain (Kerala/Malaysian)
1 cup all purpose flour or maida
 2 tbsp sugar
1/4 spn Elachi powder
1/4 tsp baking soda (Optional)
1/4 spn salt
1/4 spn cumin seeds
 A pinch of turmeric powder
About 1/2 cup water (more or less)
Coconut oil or any oil to deep fry
Mix Maida, Sugar, salt, baking soda, cumin seeds and turmeric into a thin paste. Now dip the sliced banana into the mix and deep fry in the oil.
